Balance transactions with refunds or disputes now specify the corresponding ID in the source field Breaking changes

What’s new

Updates the Balance Transaction object to provide the refund ID or dispute ID as the source value when the balance transaction is associated with a refund or dispute. Previously, the original charge ID was shown.

Impact

The Balance Transaction object’s source value now provides a refund or dispute ID when applicable, offering more specific transaction source information.

Upgrade

1. View your current API version in Workbench.
2. If you use an SDK, upgrade to the corresponding SDK version for this API version.

• If you don’t use an SDK, update your API requests to include Stripe-Version: 2015-08-19

3. Upgrade the API version used for webhook endpoints .
4. Test your integration against the new version.
5. If you use Connect, test your Connect integration .
