Instantly convert between currencies on Stripe.
Instant currency conversion lets you convert balances that you accrue through multi-currency settlement or by funding your financial account. You can convert balances in the Dashboard or programmatically using the private-preview API and the funds become instantly available in your balance.

Convert currencies instantly
To instantly convert currencies in the Dashboard:
- Go to the Treasury page, then click Convert .
- On the conversion details page, select the currencies to convert and enter the amount.
- Click Submit . You’ll see the funds instantly available in your balance.
Supported currencies and pricing
Supported currencies to convert to for Stripe accounts in:

The minimum conversion amount depends on the currency you are converting from. For most currencies, the minimum is one major unit (for example, 1 USD or 1 EUR). Some currencies have a higher minimum: JPY (200 JPY).
You can convert funds up to the daily per-currency limit shown in the preceding table. The limit depends on whether you convert funds in your payment balance or in your financial account.

Available balances for instant currency conversion
Instant currency conversion works with available balances (funds that have settled into your Stripe balance). Daily automatic payouts affect the amount available for conversion. To make sure funds remain available, you can switch from daily automatic payouts to manual payouts. To keep your daily payout schedule, consider setting a minimum balance on your Payout settings page.
Instant currency conversion for Connect
If your connected accounts accrue multi-currency balances through multi-currency settlement, you can enable them to convert between their balances using the private preview API. Request access.
Convert between stablecoin and fiat balances
To convert between stablecoin and a fiat currency, your financial account must support holding balances in both currencies.
Converting between USD and the related setting doesn’t involve foreign exchange because the related setting is pegged to the US dollar. Any other pair involves a currency conversion at the current exchange rate.
To convert between a stablecoin balance and a fiat balance in the Dashboard:
- Go to the Treasury page, then click Convert .
- Select the balances to convert between and enter the amount.
- Click Submit .
