Learn about the features of the Express Dashboard.

The Express Dashboard is a user interface that’s available to your platform’s connected accounts. They can use the Express Dashboard to monitor their available balance, view upcoming payouts, view payments, manage disputes, issue refunds, and track their earnings in real time. This guide outlines the features of the Express Dashboard and how your connected accounts can access it.

Features

The Express Dashboard displays the connected account’s balance transactions and net volume. You can customize which features are available to your connected accounts.

Note

When Stripe is responsible for negative balances on your connected accounts, we require some features, such as View payments, Issue refunds, Manage disputes, and Top up refunds and disputes balance, and don’t permit disabling them. These features let connected accounts participate in risk management when Stripe covers losses. See Customize features for details.

Transactions

Connected accounts can view their balance transactions, including charges, transfers, and payouts, organized by type, date, and amount. By default, the transactions list displays generic descriptions of charges and transfers, such as Payment from {YOUR the related setting}. To learn how to create custom descriptions, see Customize the Express Dashboard.

Earnings chart

A chart displays the net volume of the account’s charges and transfers over time. Connected accounts can select different time intervals to view.

Payments

Connected accounts can view their Payments history and details. They can also issue refunds and manage disputes, if you enable these features.

Balance

Connected accounts can view their balance, money on the way to the bank, money available soon, and the expected arrival date of the next payout. They can change their bank account. They can also update their payout schedule (manual vs. automatic) and manually pay themselves out, if these features are enabled. If you enable the future refunds and disputes balance, they can also proactively add money to this balance to avoid a negative balance and prevent business disruptions.

Reports

The Reports section lets connected accounts view and download financial reports directly in the Express Dashboard. The Balance summary tab shows an overview of account balance activity for a selected date range. The Payout reconciliation tab shows a breakdown of automatic payouts and the transactions they contain. Connected accounts on a manual payout schedule can only view the Balance summary tab.

Financing

Eligible connected accounts can apply for financing and view their financing status. Learn more about Capital for Platforms.

Notification Banner

The notification banner renders and collects the currently due requirements. The notification banner also allows connected accounts to perform tasks, such as responding to risk interventions and compliance updates.

Account settings

Connected accounts can view and update their settings in Account settings. They can view and edit personal or business information, public details, and the bank accounts used for payouts.

Connected accounts can also edit their display name, which helps distinguish between accounts in the account switcher if they log in to multiple accounts on the same platform.

If you enable Close account, connected accounts can close their own account from the Express Dashboard.

To receive notifications when a connected account closes its own account, set up a webhook to listen for the appropriate event based on the API version you use:

  • Accounts v1 : Listen for the account. application. deauthorized event using a Connect webhook .
  • Accounts v2 : Listen for the v2. core. account. closed event using an Account webhook .

Activity Hub

The activity hub displays notifications about activity such as upcoming payouts, account setting changes, refunds, and dispute payments.

Tasks

The task list shows a connected account’s outstanding tasks, such as confirming an email address. If Collect eventually due requirements is enabled, connected accounts also see a task that prompts them to submit any missing eventually due requirements.

Dark mode and language

In profile settings, you can change the preferred language and the color scheme, which can be light, dark, or system. The default color scheme is system, so the Express Dashboard uses the color scheme set on your device.

Access the Express Dashboard

We recommend providing login links to your connected accounts so they can access their Express Dashboard. You can also give them direct access.

You can generate single-use, account-specific login links that redirect your connected accounts from your platform application to the Express Dashboard login page. They can log in using SMS or email authentication.

Direct access

Connected accounts can access the Express Dashboard by logging into https://connect.stripe.com/express_login using their account email and an authentication code sent to their phone by SMS or to their email.

Only live mode accounts can log in to https://connect.stripe.com/express_login. Connected accounts using a sandbox account can only access the Express Dashboard through a login link.

Supported browsers

The Express Dashboard supports the same browsers the Stripe Dashboard supports. Connected accounts must access the Dashboard in a web browser, and can’t use embedded web views inside mobile or desktop applications.
