Makes metadata optional when creating a Batch Job v2 Public preview
What’s new
Updates the metadata parameter to be optional when you create a Batch Job v2. Previously, metadata was required, meaning every create request had to include it even if you didn’t need to attach any key-value data to the job.
Impact
You no longer need to include metadata in every request to create a Batch Job v2. If you don’t need to attach custom key-value pairs to a job, you can omit the parameter entirely.

Upgrade
- View your current API version in Workbench.
- If you use an SDK, upgrade to the corresponding SDK version for this API version.
- If you don’t use an SDK, update your API requests to include Stripe-Version: 2026-06-24. preview
- Upgrade the API version used for webhook endpoints .
- Test your integration against the new version.
- If you use Connect, test your Connect integration .
- In Workbench, perform the upgrade . You can roll back the version for 72 hours.
