Adds customer and payment method details to the Refunds API

What’s new

Adds three new readable properties to the Refunds object:

• customer : The ID of the customer associated with the refund. You can expand this property to retrieve the full Customer object.
• customer_account : The ID of the account associated with the refund.
• payment_method : The ID of the payment method associated with the refund. You can expand this property to retrieve the full PaymentMethod object.

These properties are returned on all /v1/refunds endpoints and are available for both linked and unlinked card refunds.

Impact

You can now retrieve customer and payment method details directly from a Refund object without making additional API calls. To access the full object details, pass customer, customer_account, or payment_method in the expand array of your request.

Upgrade

1. View your current API version in Workbench.
2. If you use an SDK, upgrade to the corresponding SDK version for this API version.

• If you don’t use an SDK, update your API requests to include Stripe-Version: 2026-07-29. dahlia

3. Upgrade the API version used for webhook endpoints .
4. Test your integration against the new version.
5. If you use Connect, test your Connect integration .
6. In Workbench, perform the upgrade . You can roll back the version for 72 hours.
