Adds control over Stripe user authentication to Payment Method Settings Public preview
What’s new
Adds the nullable disable_stripe_user_authentication boolean property to the features hash for the Payment Method Settings embedded component when you create an Account Session.
Impact
You can now disable Stripe authentication in the Payment Method Settings embedded component for eligible connected accounts where your platform collects requirements. Set components.payment_method_settings.features.disable_stripe_user_authentication to true. The property defaults to false, so existing integrations aren’t affected. See Disable Stripe user authentication for eligibility and configuration details.

Upgrade
- View your current API version in Workbench.
- If you use an SDK, upgrade to the corresponding SDK version for this API version.
- If you don’t use an SDK, update your API requests to include Stripe-Version: 2026-08-26. preview
- Upgrade the API version used for webhook endpoints .
- Test your integration against the new version.
- If you use Connect, test your Connect integration .
- In Workbench, perform the upgrade . You can roll back the version for 72 hours.
